I am currently enrolled at Univ. of Maryland Univ. College and a 3 credit course (most of them are) cost $555. STAP only gives you $300 per term. I work for Marine Corps Community Services and they also offer tuition assistance to their part time and full time employees so that's something to think about if you're planning on working while being here. They pay for one class at a time. The base that I work on is about a ten minute drive from Kadena. Community Bank on base also offers the same deal from what I've heard but it's pretty tough to get in with them. Also, there's quite a few scholarships on the island that you can apply for.
